One of the greatest weapons we have against the enemy is the presence of God. With God on our side, who can be against us? There is a sense of protection and peace that permeates our hearts when we know for certain God is with us. He has promised to never leave or forsake us.

1. In the beginning, Satan (the serpent) spoke words that contradicted God’s Word (Genesis 3:1-10).
   1. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God.
   2. Fear comes by hearing a word that contradicts the Word of God.
      1. Eliminate fear by meditating on what God said instead of the contradictions.
      2. When Satan speaks a word that contradicts God’s Word, he is attempting to plant a seed of fear in us.
         1. Whenever we are afraid, we are not sure God’s presence is really with us.
         2. Many times fear comes as a result of sin that has not been confessed.
         3. Sin brings shame and guilt with it, which causes people to hide from the presence of God.
         4. Adam and Eve knew no fear until they sinned.
         5. Fear is the foundation of every sin.
   
   
2. God has said He will not in any way fail us or leave us without support (Hebrews 13:5, AMP).
   1. God promises to be with us always; He has declared He will not leave us helpless.
      1. God assured Joshua that as He was with Moses, He would also be with him (Joshua 1:5).
      2. Jesus promised to be with us always, even until the end of the world (Matthew 28:20).
      3. David said, “… I will fear no evil: for thou art with me …” (Psalm 23:4).
   2. If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31; Psalm 118:6).
      1. People who know without a shadow of a doubt that God is with them, cannot be defeated.
      2. Jesus said “… He that sent me is with me …” (John 8:29).
      3. Be the type of person who walks in constant victory because you know God is with you.
         1. Being in a battle does not automatically make you a conqueror.
         2. Conquerors consistently win battles.
         3. We are fighting spiritual battles on a constant basis; however, we know we are conquerors because God loves us.
            
            
3. How do we experience the presence of God?
   1. Praise is our weapon.
      1. To dwell in the house of the Lord” means to dwell in the presence of God (Psalm 23:6; Psalm 122:1).
      2. To “enter into His presence” means to enter into a more intimate fellowship with God.
      3. A psalmist declared that he would rather be a door keeper in the house of the Lord than to dwell in the tent of the wicked (Psalm 84:10).
      4. To take your fellowship with God to a deeper level, occupy your mind with Him throughout your day.
      5. Praise the Lord seven times a day; praise ushers you into His presence (Psalm 119:164).
      6. He shows us the path of life and in His presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11).
